Biography

From lead roles in Broadway musicals to nightly performances at the Pacific National Exhibition and dance routines at BC Place Stadium, Aran Davison is doing it all. The Vancouver, BC based dancer/musican/actor/producer is currently a member of the Modus Operandi Training Program and a dance instructor at Spiral Dance Company.

Aran, whose dance training includes ballet, pas de deux, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, ballet, tap, hip hop, stage, and musical theatre, is a former student at the the Edge Studio in Los Angeles. He developed his vocal abilities under the guidance of Bev Schellenburg and his acting abilities under the direction of Rick Harmon and Candice Radcliffe.

From 2005 to 2009 Aran was a key member of the dance/pyrotechnic stage productions Bring on the Night, Rollin’ Thunder and Kaboom at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver, BC. In 2008 he toured throughout British Columbia with the Ruckus Dance company on the Ricochet rock musical tour.

In addition to his performance/production credits with local bands Raspberry Jam and The Tiers, Aran is a prolific singer/songwriter with a distinctive sound that owes as much to the stripped-bare vulnerability of dbClifford and Alexi Murdoch as it does to the kaleidoscopic sound-world of The Cinematic Orchestra and Radiohead.

Aran is currently developing his skills as a producer/choreographer/songwriter and plans to enrol in the recording arts diploma program at Columbia Academy. He is currently working on his debut solo album and continues to choreograph solo and group works. In 2010 Aran will perform aboard cruise ships in both the Princess and Celebrity fleets.

At home in the studio, at centre stage and in front of the camera, Aran has already made a mark on the Vancouver arts scene. And that’s just the beginning...
